The thought of replacing a chocolate bar with an apple or a box of crisps with a handful of fruit and nuts is similar to replacing a swimming pool with a shallow puddle for certain individuals. If apples are not for you, though, there is a large variety of fruits that are filled with flavor and nutrients. And none of this means that chocolate will never be consumed again. In fact, it might be better to adhere to the diet long-term with an occasional bar.

Think of the role that soft drinks have in your diet as well. If you will use a bottle of water or fruit juice every week to replace a few soft drinks, so you can benefit from the improvement that this provides. It can sound bland, but on a hot day, there's really no better flavor than an ice-cold glass of water.
